Nueva Vizcaya is a gem newly-discovered for aerial sports. It has become the newest paragliding destination in the Philippines. Our wind conditions, like steady wind speed, stable thermals and smooth gusts, are perfect for pilot training and tandem flights. We have many take-off hills and mountains waiting to be discovered. Our rolling plains are excellent for landing zones. Also, the kindness of Novo Vizcayanos is ready to be known and proven to our country.
INTERNATIONAL FLYING EDUCATION CENTER (IFEC)
The International Flying Education Center (IFEC) is a leisure sports company that specializes in these human-flight activities. Our services include training pilots, flying tandem passengers and creating tours for pilots to fly in different take-off sites across Asia.
FLYING HISTORY IN NUEVA VIZCAYA
The vision to start paragliding in the Valley was initiated by a Novo Vizcayano paragliding student, Violet Lucasi-Elrays. After flying in different fly sites in neighboring Asian countries, she discovered that her hometown has one of the best wind conditions in the Philippines.
Paragliding in Nueva Vizcaya started in December 2018. A series of test flights was done by Korean Flying Instructor Kwang Hyun Paik aka Master Pyro, in Aritao, Bambang, Bayombong, Ambaguio and Solano. In 2019, he started teaching local pilots who will cater to the influx of tourists and enthusiasts from neighboring regions and abroad.
In January 2019 the first batch of tandem flights was launched. We had 12 pioneer fliers who painted the skies with delightful screams and laughter. The success continued as more pilots were invited to come in.
The first paramotor flight took off in May 2019 for the Grand Ammungan Festival. Hundreds of people witnessed the flyby spectacle. The flyover created local awareness for the possibility of human flight in the region.
NUEVA VIZCAYA PILOT DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
Part of IFEC’s community development initiatives is to offer a training course that will develop local pilots in the province.
Our PILOT DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM aims to fund and support the education of a local pilot who cannot afford to pay for his or her own training. We are looking for sponsors who are willing to support a local to study now and pay them later. Once these students become professional commercial tandem pilots, depending on the agreement between their sponsors, a percentage of their flights will be returned to their sponsors.

The Program will form a corps of Novo Vizcayano pilots who aim to promote and advance air sports in the province. Our goal is to become a training pool for future world athletes and produce professional pilots, both for leisure and commercial flights.
This is part of the vision to make Nueva Vizcaya the paragliding Mecca of the North, thus further promoting the province’s tourism industry.
