CLOSURE OF NUEVA VIZCAYA PARAGLIDING IN AMBAGUIO

“For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven. A time to be born, and a time to die. A time to plant, and a time to harvest. A time to kill and a time to heal.”

Ecclesiastes 3:1-3a NLT

It has been almost 6 years since Nueva Vizcaya Paragliding first took flight in Ambaguio. Through the years, with your help, we have built a brand that is synonymous with safety, fun, and excellence.

  • We became the number 1 adventure provider in the province with the highest guest satisfaction rate (almost 100%)
  • We are the first and currently the only DOT-accredited paragliding operator in the Philippines
  • We have achieved the highest safety record of flying in the past years
  • We won multiple regional and national awards as an inspiring tourism provider
  • We trained dozens of grassroots pilots through our Tribal Pilot Development Program
  • We placed Ambaguio on the map and inspired the community to grow economically

Like anything worth pursuing, things did not come easy. Along the way we have met what seemed like insurmountable challenges as we tried to refine our processes. We worked hard to get our licenses, business permits, safety certifications and other legal compliances which was a slow and tedious process, but we had a commitment to do things right.

We provided free paragliding education to local students, as 100% of income from our tandem operations went to the wholistic approach of pilot development.

Our vision was to have a unified systematic flight operations in Ambaguio that could be a national benchmark and an internationally recognized brand for grassroots Air Sports Tourism.

Sadly, many stakeholders, including licensing bodies and local pilots we trained, do not share the same vision. Despite our best efforts, our countless appeals for unity and integrity fell on deaf ears making it difficult for us to continue operating at the standard of safety and excellence we wish to achieve.

And so it is with a heavy heart that we announce we will be closing ALL our operations in Brgy. Tiblac, Ambaguio on April 30, 2024.

We want to say THANK YOU to all our tourism partners, government leaders, supporters, instructors, and paragliding pilots who stuck by our side as we built an exceptional paragliding service from a barren mountain ridge to a thriving tourist community today. And to everyone who flew with us, your stories, and the memories we have created together will hold a very special place in our hearts as we look ahead.

We leave Ambaguio with a special gift of being the pioneer winner of the Tourism Champion Challenge (TCC) through the Skyport project: the first paragliding airport terminal and tourism hub in the country.

Moving forward, please be informed that we are not connected and do not support any of the current or future commercial tandem flights being done in Ambaguio, outside the endorsement of Nueva Vizcaya Paragliding. We fear that these new paragliding operators and their end-to-end services are not at par with the safe and quality flight operations we have developed and established over the years.

It has been our pleasure touching the skies with you. The future is unknown and full of possibilities. We are excited for what lies ahead. The skies are wide open so look up once in a while. You might see a familiar wing. We do not know where or when, but we will fly again.
